Eight brand-new canned lights are now shining down and bringing some much-needed brightness to Studio29—my cozy home studio space. For the last nine years, this basement bonus room has served as either our homeschool room or my art studio, and I’ve relied on a collection of lamps just to see what I was doing.
Recently, Kerr Electric (owned by Chris Kerr)* came in, cut the holes, ran the wiring, and installed the lights—complete with a dimmer switch. Everything looks clean, bright, and beautifully symmetrical. I’m still waiting on our ceiling guy to come finish smoothing the drywall, but even with the rough edges, the difference is incredible.
And there’s more change on the way! I ordered a new sliding glass door to replace the old single door and window. The current door has plenty of issues, and let’s just say the window—with the A/C unit stuck in it—is not exactly inspiring. Having a full view of the backyard is going to make this space feel completely different. The door should arrive and be installed around Christmas… what a perfect gift! 🎁
If all goes well, Studio29 should be fully refreshed by the end of January. I can’t wait to show you the final transformation!
