January was a month of steady making and focused studio time. Daily bird sketches from December evolved into watercolor studies, oil paintings, and color explorations, while teaching continued to fill the studio with energy. Dedicated Thursday painting days—six uninterrupted hours each week—allowed for deep creative focus on both small works and larger canvases. By the end of each session I was exhausted but grateful, thankful for a season of life shaped by attention, creativity, and quiet joy.
My January 2026 exhibition at the Simpsonville Fine Art Gallery features four oil paintings inspired by light, family, and the beauty of ordinary life.
