Here’s a more meaningful, polished, and gently reflective version:
Losing both of my parents within the past five years has reminded me, in a profound way, just how short and precious life truly is. When my mom’s health began to decline during Hurricane Helene, that same storm broke large branches from our Tulip Poplar tree. The twig in this piece comes from one of those fallen branches, and the butterfly resting on it carries soft hints of heavenly gold.
So much of life feels like time spent in the chrysalis—enclosed, waiting, becoming. Yet it’s in that hidden, transformative place that some of the deepest lessons take root. And when we finally step into the light again, those lessons become the very things that strengthen our wings for the next part of the journey.
