One Flat Tire at a Time--Website Development

Today, I thought it would be a simple day of sending out emails.
But when all my website plug-ins broke this week, it felt like blowing all four tires on the highway. I’ve been making such great progress toward my business goals, and now—suddenly—I’m stranded on the side of the road.
Then I remembered a story from years ago, when I made a bet on a football game: if Oklahoma beat Alabama, I’d run a half marathon.
They did. Big time.
So I trained… got hurt… tried again… got sick… moved states… and finally ran from Traveler’s Rest to Greenville in 2017.
I learned something then — doing hard things always comes with setbacks. But those setbacks are often setups for something better. God is so kind to guide, grow, and help me every step of the way.
We’re rebuilding the website now — one new tire at a time — and I’m grateful to still love both the process and the journey.
Hard to believe that half marathon was eight years ago!
As I look at where I am today, I realize the same lessons carry into my art and into Studio29. Creativity has its own set of detours, delays, and unexpected rest stops, but God uses every one of them. Every painting, every class I teach, every new idea, and even every “website flat tire” becomes part of a bigger story He’s writing.
So I’ll keep showing up — brush in hand, heart steady — trusting that He’ll continue to guide the path forward. And just like that long half marathon, I know I’ll look back one day and marvel at how far He’s carried me.
